How do I hide iTunes music purchases on iPhone ?

The ability to enable/disable showing iTunes purchases still exists, but it’s now in the iTunes app itself.

Launch the app and then click on the pull down which allows you to select iTunes listings like by artist, album.

In the picture below, tap the red Artists word just below the album art.

itunes_music

This will bring up this menu, scroll to the bottom,

itunes_music_2

and slide the Only Offline Music to the on position.

Convert a song to a different file format with iTunes

NOTE : Choosing the import type on the preferences menu alters the option you see on the File > Convert menu, heres how to do t.

1) Open iTunes Preferences.
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
2) Click the General button, then click the Import Settings button in the lower section of the window.
3) From the Import Using pop-up menu, choose the encoding format that you want to convert the song to. To save the settings, click OK.
4) Select one or more songs in your library that you want to convert.
5) Choose File > Create New Version, then Create [format] Version. The format shown is the one that you chose in step 3. For example, if you chose Apple Lossless Encoder, select Create Apple Lossless Version.

New song files appear in your library next to the original files.

Old Application Downloads

I found a great site last night called OldApps.com.
It keeps old versions of applications available for download.

I was having trouble with the new version of iTunes (10.2.2), it seems to have broken the ‘organize media’ function. I was able to download 10.2.1 from this site.

I uninstalled 10.2.2, installed 10.2.1 and the organize media function now works.
